About Max

Why I am running

Max Engling is a dedicated public servant – running for Congress to return the country to the conservative principles that founded this great nation: fiscal responsibility, limited government, family values, and the rule of law. As a Christian, conservative, family-first resident of Indiana, he understands the desire to get big government out of our lives and will work hard to make America a better place for Hoosiers to build a family, a community, and a career.

Growing up in a supportive family of eight children, Max learned the value of hard work at a young age. From baling hay and detasseling corn, to maintaining a campground and running the quality control lab as the youngest hire at an industry leading fabrication business, he has always been driven to give everything he has to the task at hand. While earning his degree at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Max worked full-time in construction and waiting tables. After graduating from IUPUI with a bachelor’s in political science, he worked for a local HVAC business, but was being drawn toward public service.

Indiana was still recovering from the recession, the federal government was expanding into all areas of life, and Washington was more focused on telling you what to do than protecting your freedoms. To fight back, Max worked hard as a volunteer with the Republican Party and on campaigns in Indiana, making the case for limited government and fiscal responsibility.

After helping Republicans who secured a majority in Congress, he eagerly answered the call to serve and moved to Washington, DC on an internship with the Committee on House Administration in the U.S. House of Representatives. Taking a second job at night to support his growing family; he committed to work relentlessly, handle any task big or small, and trust God to direct his paths – earning a reputation of dedication, honesty, and integrity. Eventually, Max rose through the ranks to become the Director of Member Services for the Speaker of the House. In that role, he was the Speaker’s delegate with the entire Republican Conference and worked directly with every Republican Representative to guide them and their staff on how to best listen, communicate, and work effectively for their constituents.

Max understands the urgency of this election and believes Central Indiana deserves a Representative who will listen to the people and get to work immediately. He is running for Congress to bring sanity back to Washington and cure the woke culture infecting our schools, churches, and communities. A committed Christian, Max will defend the sanctity of life and the rights of the preborn. He will fight back against the Left’s pro-crime agenda and secure our southern border. He will work to end Washington’s reckless spending and bring down the cost of gas, groceries, and everyday goods by making America energy independent.

Max met his wife Kelcey in Muncie, Indiana and they were married in Cicero, Indiana – together they have four beautiful children. He earned his master’s degree in defense and strategic studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
